Getting started

  1. Pick a nickname. If a nickname is taken, the network asks you to choose another.
  2. Choose a network. Join a big one, a small one, or your own IRC network.
  3. Join a room. Type /join #name. Room names start with #.
  4. Read the topic. The line at the top of the room says what is going on.
  5. Listen, then hello. Watch the conversation for a minute before chatting.
